Project
A project serves as a repository for all items you need to simulate and optimize a process or a set of processes. It corresponds to a real project that could, for example, aim to introduce a new business process, improve an existing process, or decide how many resources are required to reach a certain throughput time or cost target.
Scenario
A scenario represents a specific setup of one or more processes and a specific combination of conditions, such as the availability of resources or the instantiation of processes. Even though the processes differ in various aspects, such as the flow logic, the activities required, or the resources involved, the different setups share the common goal of providing the same product or service.
To represent quantity differences in scenarios, you need separate resource objects with different sizes that are assigned to the same functions of a process. To do so, copy the process and replace the resource objects. Alternatively, you can create multiple FAD (function allocation diagram) assignments and then select the appropriate FAD for each scenario.
Run
A run is the simulation of a scenario for the specified simulation period. During the simulation run, data about object states and status changes is collected.
