Maximum number of parallel simulation runs

Based on the size of the environment, thresholds are set to control the number of parallel simulation runs:

These limits apply to all simulation customers/users collectively. If no free slot is available for a simulation run, the run is queued and executed as soon as a slot becomes available.

Maximum memory per simulation run

Simulations generate tokens that enter the process and usually exit it again. In some cases, for example, during a bottleneck or a loop, tokens do not exit the process and therefore occupy memory space. If the number of tokens increases dramatically, memory consumption grows and the server can run out of memory.

Therefore, the difference between completed tokens and tokens being processed is monitored. If this difference exceeds a threshold, the simulation run affected is canceled. Statistics gathered until cancelation are stored in the database so that the user can identify the problem and correct the process. The threshold value is dynamic and adapts to the current memory usage.
