Connections
You can define the alias URL to be used within data feeds. Defining a URL alias enables you to shorten the link used in dashboards and data feeds. A data feed is a table containing prepared data. It consists of several columns that contain numerical values (for example, figures), text, or date values. Each row in the calculated result of a data feed corresponds to one data record.
Create a ARIS Process Performance Manager server connection, define the JDBC driver or the JDBC data source to extract data from a preconfigured JDBC database.
Define the alias URL to be used within data feeds. If you specify Feed URL, all default data feeds will work properly.
Defining a URL alias enables you to shorten the link used in dashboards and data feeds. If you use an alias, you only specify the path to the location where the data is stored. You do not need to enter the entire URL. Furthermore, adapting the alias enables you to import this kind of data to a different server.
If you have updated ARIS 10.0 Service Release 1 to version 10.0 Service Release 2, you need to recreate the URL alias that WAS defined for ARIS 10.0 Service Release 1. Delete the URL alias at first and add a new URL alias with the same data.
Prerequisite

Your ARIS server is enabled for ARIS Aware.
Click
Application launcher >

Click Connections.
Select URL alias.
Click
Add configuration. The Add property panel opens.Enter the alias.
Enter the protocol (http or https) to be used for the communication.
Enter a fully-qualified host name (FQHN). The fully-qualified host name (FQHN) is the host name that is specified as the IP address of a computer or as a fully-qualified domain name (FQDN) in the following form: my.department.example.com. Enter, for example, myserver.mydomain.ext, where ARIS server runs. You can copy it from your browser’s URL.
Enter the port on which ARIS server runs.
Enable Use single sign-on if you want allow that data sources can be accessed without an additional login. You change this preset option in the data source operator.
Enter user name and password of the user who is supposed to have access to the data feeds used by the dashboards.
If you change the password of the user who created this URL alias, you must also update the password for the Feed URL alias (
Edit), otherwise dashboards cannot be displayed.Click
Save.
The alias URL is defined.
This alias URL can be used for your data feeds.

You can create a ARIS Process Performance Manager server connection.
If you have updated ARIS 10.0 Service Release 1 to version 10.0 Service Release 2, you must recreate the PPM connections that were defined for ARIS 10.0 Service Release 1. First delete the PPM connection and add a new PPM connection with the same data.

Select PPM connections.
Click
Add configuration. The Add property panel opens.Enter the PPM client.
Enter the protocol (http or https) to be used for the communication.

Enter the port.
Enter the client of your PPM server. A client provides you with all the configuration files and applications required to extract data from your source system and configure it for further processing.
Enter the version.

You have created a connection to your ARIS Process Performance Manager server.
You can edit your ARIS Process Performance Manager server connection.

Your ARIS server is enabled for ARIS Aware.
Click
Application launcher > Administration. Configuration is displayed.Click Dashboards.
Click Connections.
Select PPM connections. All ARIS Process Performance Manager servers configured are displayed.
In the row of the item you want to change, click
Edit . The Edit property panel opens.Enter your changes.
Click
Save.
You have edited your ARIS Process Performance Manager server connection.
You can delete a ARIS Process Performance Manager server connection.

Define the JDBC driver to be used within data feeds.
Prerequisite

Your ARIS server is enabled for ARIS Aware.

Click Connections.
Select JDBC drivers.
Click
Add configuration. The Add property panel opens.Enter the name of the JDBC driver.
Enter the driver class, for example, jar.
Click Select import....
Select the driver file and click OK.
This JDBC driver can be used for your data feeds.
You can delete your JDBC driver.

In the row of the item you want to delete, click

Specify the JDBC data source to be used within data feeds.

You have uploaded a JDBC driver.

Click Connections.
Select JDBC data source.
Click
Add configuration. The Add property panel opens.Enter the name of the JDBC data source.
Select the JDBC driver.
Enter the URL of the JDBC driver.
Enter the user name of the user who can access the data.
Enter the password of the user who can access the data.
Enter the initial size.
Enter the maximum active time.
Enter the maximum wait time.
Enter the maximum idle time.
Enable the pool prepared statement, if required.
Enter the validation query.
Enter the validation timeout.
Enter the number of eviction runs.
Enter the number of tests per run.
Enter the maximum evictable idle time.
Click Save.
This JDBC data source can be used for your data feeds.
You can edit your JDBC data source to be used within data feeds.
