Use the Catalog
Use the Catalog to display the data of published databases that are structured by predefined elements such as Business processes or Documents. To display the catalog, click Application launcher >
Catalog.
You can find items starting with a specific letter.
Select the relevant item type in the left-hand panel, for example, Roles.
Click
Directory above the table.
Select the required letter.
The items starting with the selected letter are displayed.
To quickly find frequently used database items, mark them as
Favorites.
You can find items containing a specific string.
Select the relevant item type in the left-hand panel, for example, Roles.
Click
Filter above the table. A filter field is displayed for each column.
Enter search terms in one or more fields. The filter is not case-sensitive.
Alternatively, select Empty values to find items for which not all attributes are specified and then add the missing information.
The items matching the filter criteria are displayed.
To remove the filters, click Filter again.
You can use favorites to quickly find database items you work with frequently.
In an open catalog table, move the mouse pointer over the relevant item and click
Favorite. The item is marked as
Favorite.Click
Favorites above the table to display only your favorites.
To display the entire table again, click
Favorites again.
Your preferred items are marked as favorites. Alternatively, click Application launcher >
My favorites to display your preferred database items.
To remove an item from your favorites, click
Favorite in the row of the relevant item.
To navigate from the catalog items to the database group in which the item is stored, click the name of the item to which you want to navigate. The fact sheets of the item are displayed. To return to the catalog, use the
Back button of the fact sheet.
You can edit attributes of catalog items.
Prerequisite
You have the ARIS Connect Viewer and Contribution license privileges, or the ARIS Connect Designer license privilege.
Select the relevant item type in the left-hand panel, for example, Roles.
Open the table containing the items whose attributes you want to change.
Click
Edit >
Contribute.
Click the attribute you want to edit and make your changes.
Click
.Once you have made all the changes, click
Exit edit mode.
Your changes are saved.
You can specify the columns to be displayed in a table. In addition, you can sort the table items in ascending or descending order. Thus, you obtain a better overview of the items.
Prerequisite
You have the ARIS Connect Viewer and Contribution license privileges, or the ARIS Connect Designer license privilege.
In an open catalog table, click
Edit columns above the table. The Edit columns panel is displayed.
Enable the required columns and deactivate the columns to be hidden.
Change the order of the columns using drag and drop.
Click Apply. Your changes are saved for the open table. To reset the changes, click
Reset to default.
To sort the list according to a specific criterion in ascending or descending order, click the column heading you want to sort by. Only column headings with
Up/
Down arrows can be used for sorting. Your changes are saved for all lists containing these column headings.
The list is organized according to your settings.
You can export the content of the selected catalog table to a CSV file.
Open the table whose data you want to export.
If required, filter the content to be exported. Otherwise, the entire table will be exported.
Click
Export to CSV. The export is started.
Click
Reports next to your user initials.Click the export file and open or save it.
The file contains the catalog content on two sheets. The Catalog sheet contains the data you selected for export. The General sheet contains the name of the database containing the data, the time of creation, and the name of the user who initiated the export.
You can customize the catalog according to your preferences.
Prerequisite
You have the ARIS Connect Viewer and Contribution license privileges, or the ARIS Connect Designer license privilege.
You have the Portal administrator function privilege.
Click
Edit >
Configure catalog. The Catalog - Edit component view opens in a new browser tab.
Edit and modify a category according to your preferences.
Create your custom structure element to access specific database elements by using
Add category or
Duplicate.
To obtain a better overview, delete the categories you do not need.
To restore the default catalog of a database, click
Restore.
Your changes are saved.
