Geographical map resources

You can customize geographical maps. A geographical map is a representation of the Earth upon a flat surface.

Upload geographical maps for the dashboards. A geographical map is a representation of the Earth upon a flat surface. We recommend that you back up the existing geographical maps for dashboards before you upload a new set of geographical maps, in case the uploaded geographical maps do not meet your expectations.

Prerequisite

  • You have the Dashboard administrator function privilege.

  • Your ARIS server is enabled for ARIS Aware.

  • You have an appropriate GeoJSON file.

Procedure. Procedure
  1. Click Application launcher Application launcher > Administration Administration. Configuration Configuration is displayed.

  2. Click Dashboards.

  3. Click Geographical map resources.

  4. Click Vector maps.

  5. Click Upload.

  6. Select the relevant file.

You have uploaded geographical maps for dashboards.

You can download geographical maps for dashboards. A geographical map is a representation of the Earth upon a flat surface.

  • You have the Dashboard administrator function privilege.

  • Your ARIS server is enabled for ARIS Aware.

  1. Click Application launcher Application launcher > Administration Administration. Configuration Configuration is displayed.

  2. Click Dashboards.

  3. Click Geographical map resources.

  4. Click Vector maps.

  5. In the row of the relevant vector map, click Download Download.

You have downloaded a geographical map for dashboards. The geographical map is in the GeoJSON file format.

You can delete geographical maps for dashboards.

Prerequisite

  • You have the Dashboard administrator function privilege.

  • You have an ARIS Connect Designer license.

  • Your ARIS server is enabled for ARIS Aware.

  1. Click Application launcher Application launcher > Administration Administration. Configuration Configuration is displayed.

  2. Click Dashboards.

  3. Click Geographical map resources.

  4. Click Vector maps.

  5. In the row of the relevant vector map, click Delete Delete.

You have deleted a geographical map for dashboards.

Upload tile servers for dashboards. A tile server is the service that generates rendered images (tiles) from a database. The tile server hosts the Open Street Map (OSM) data. We recommend that you back up the existing tile server for dashboards before you upload a new tile server, in case the uploaded tile server does not meet your expectations.

Prerequisite

  • You have the Dashboard administrator function privilege.

  • Your ARIS server is enabled for ARIS Aware.

  • You have an appropriate JSON file.

  1. Click Application launcher Application launcher > Administration Administration. Configuration Configuration is displayed.

  2. Click Dashboards.

  3. Click Geographical map resources.

  4. Click Tile servers.

  5. Click Upload.

  6. Select the relevant file.

You have uploaded a tile server for dashboards.

You can download a tile server for dashboards. A tile server is the service that generates rendered images (tiles) from a database. The tile server hosts the Open Street Map (OSM) data.

  • Your ARIS server is enabled for ARIS Aware.

  2. Click Dashboards.

  3. Click Geographical map resources.

  4. Click Tile servers.

  5. In the row of the relevant tile server, click Download Download.

You have downloaded a tile server for dashboards. The tile server is saved in the JSON file format.

You can delete a tile server for dashboards.
