Create SAP function for a branch
You can define missing structural elements based on the consistency rules and then add them to the SAP® Solution Manager branches. As the correct structure must be maintained, you can create SAP functions with assistance, which are transferred to SAP® Solution Manager during SAP® synchronization in ARIS Architect.
Prerequisite
You have the ARIS Connect Designer license and the ARIS for SAP Solutions license privileges.
Navigate to the model of the Branch, Scenario, or Process SAP model type to which you want to add the SAP function. You cannot add SAP functions to a value-added chain diagram.
Open the model for editing either from the published content or from the repository.
On the Model tab, click
Enable SAP ® modeling support.Insert an object of the SAP function type. The Create SAP function dialog opens.
Choose whether to add a SAP function that is transferred using SAP synchronization. You can also add a SAP function that is will not be transferred between ARIS and SAP Solution Manager.
Depending on the level in the assignment structure, the SAP function type is automatically entered for functions. The function type depends on the SAP model type of the model to which you add the new SAP function. Therefore, you cannot change the SAP function type to a different level. Depending on the level, you can select Folder to ad a SAP function that does not affect the hierarchy.
Specify the name of the SAP function.
Depending on which level in the assignment structure you add the SAP function, specify the process step original and select the logical component.
If you enable Create assignment structure, ARIS ensures that the required assignment structure meets the consistency rules and attributes are maintained automatically.
Click OK.
The SAP function is created. Optionally, the assignment structure is generated.
This SAP function, together with the assignment structure, will be included when you start the SAP® synchronization in ARIS Architect and transfer new structural elements.
If you create definition copies of synchronized SAP functions with assistance, you no longer need to delete synchronization-relevant SAP attributes to prevent errors during synchronization. These attributes are automatically deleted by the function creation wizard.
