Run and analyze the simulation run

Start a simulation run and analyze it after completion.

Example 117.

Start the simulation of the previously created scenario. During the simulation run, you see the status of the active run, but no result data. After the simulation is completed, the result data is transferred to ARIS Process Mining. Analyze this data then with the preconfigured Basics analysis.

Prerequisite

You have the ARIS Simulation license privilege.

Procedure. Procedure

    Start the simulation run

    1. In the control panel in the lower left corner, select the scenario you want to run from the drop-down list. If the scenario names are cropped and you cannot identify the relevant scenario, use the mouse to enlarge the entire left-hand panel.

    2. Click Start a simulation run Run. The simulation run is started.

    3. Under OUTPUT click Start a simulation run Runs, to check the status and steps of the simulation run.

If Analyze results with ARIS Process Mining is enabled for the simulation project, two status indicators are displayed for a simulation run. The first is text-based and indicates the status of the simulation. The other is an icon and displays the status of the data transfer to ARIS Process Mining.

If Analyze results with ARIS Process Mining is disabled, only the status of the simulation is displayed.

    4. Move the mouse pointer over the icon next to the status to obtain detailed information via a tooltip. Example: Data successfully loaded into data set in ARIS Process Mining behind Successful displays the tooltip Data successfully loaded into data set in ARIS Process Mining.

    5. If the simulation run has the status Warning or Error, select the simulation run and click Show issues Show issues. The Issues panel opens.

    6. Use the descriptions to find out what went wrong.

    7. If, for example, a modeling error occurred, click Edit model. The model opens for editing in the modeling component in a new browser tab.

    8. Correct the model, save your changes, and close the modeling component.

    9. Then start the simulation of the scenario again.

Once the simulation run is complete and has the status Successful, the evaluation of the simulation project is available.

    Evaluate the simulation run

    1. After ANALYSES, click Create Add analysis. The dialog opens.

    2. Select the preconfigured Basics analysis Basics analysis.

    3. Click Add. The Basics analysis Basics analysis is listed under ANALYSES.

    4. To check the results, click Run in the upper left corner of the contents area. The dialog opens.

    5. Select the Optimize billing for car rental simulation run.

    6. Click Apply. The ARIS Process Mining dashboards are displayed.

    7. To find out how you can optimize the billing process of the car rental, check the Process explorer, the Process overview, or the Bottlenecks dashboard, for example.

    Evaluate the simulation data.
